Job summary

The Avangrid Internship Program is a 10-week paid summer experience designed to provide meaningful exposure to the energy industry through real-world projects, professional development, and mentorship. Within electrical engineering internship, interns support initiatives that help plan, design, operate, maintain, and modernize Avangrid's electric system.

Qualifications

• Sophomore or Junior pursuing a Bachelor's degree, or first-year Master's student with at least one semester remaining before graduation.
• Pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, Energy Systems Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship requirements.
• Preferred GPA of 3.2 or higher.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, design, operation, maintenance, and modernization of Avangrid's electric system.
• Support initiatives across transmission and distribution infrastructure, substations, protection and control, system planning, reliability, or grid modernization programs.
• Present project outcomes and key learnings from assignments to mentors and teams.
