Job summary

Medical City Orthopedic and Spine Surgery Center in Dallas, part of HCA Healthcare, seeks a PACU Nurse to deliver safe, postoperative nursing care and to monitor patients until discharge. You will manage airway, IV therapy, and patient comfort while supporting families in a compassionate setting.

Ideal candidates hold an Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma, with 1+ year PACU/ICU or surgical experience, and can obtain BCLS, ACLS within 30 days.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma or higher required.
• 1+ years of nursing experience in PACU/ICU or Surgery.
• Active RN license as required by state of employment.
• BCLS Certification upon employment; online certification not acceptable.
• ACLS required within 30 days of hire.
• PALS if required by facility within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patient care area with necessary equipment and supplies.
• Demonstrate airway management techniques.
• Monitor patients per policy (vital signs, temperature, cardiac).
• Insert, maintain, and remove IV catheters and saline locks as needed.
• Perform head-to-toe evaluation using approved scoring system.
• Check dressings or operative sites and report abnormalities to the surgeon.
• Provide a safe, comforting environment for patients and families.
• Ensure patients meet discharge criteria.
