Job summary

South Texas Spine & Surgical Hospital in San Antonio, TX, seeks a PACU Registered Nurse to provide perioperative care across age groups under PeriAnesthesia Director. You will apply nursing process and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

The role includes supervising staff, participating in risk management and infection control initiatives, and contributing to performance improvement. Candidates must have RN license in Texas and BLS/ACLS; ICU/CCU experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Eligibility to work in the U.S.
• Current Texas RN license in good standing.
• BLS/ACLS required or obtained within 30 days; PALS within 60 days.
• 2 years of ICU/ER/Recovery or critical care nursing experience.
• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
• Must be computer literate and able to use basic computer applications.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to staffing schedules and attendance policies.
• All full-time RNs participate in On-Call rotation for PACU.
• Directs and supervises ancillary personnel in pre- and post-operative care.
• Provides direct patient care and demonstrates clinical competence.
• Participates in orientation and staff meetings to support department goals.
• Maintains cross-training in PeriAnesthesia and PACU weekend call scheduling.
• Communicates changes in patient status to physicians and family members.
• Ensures adherence to quality, safety and regulatory policies.
