Job summary

South Texas Spine & Surgical Hospital is seeking a PeriAnesthesia PACU Registered Nurse to provide peri-operative care across adult and geriatric patients. The nurse will apply nursing processes, maintain safety standards, and support administrative tasks in Risk Management and Infection Control.

The role requires experience in ICU/ER/Recovery configurations, strong teamwork, and the ability to work under pressure while delivering compassionate patient care.

Qualifications

• Eligible for employment in the United States and a valid RN license (TX).
• BLS and ACLS required or obtained within 30 days of hire; PALS within 60 days.
• Minimum 2 years nursing experience in ICU/ER/Recovery or similar critical care.
• Knowledge of nursing standards, regulations, and ability to work with others.
• English reading, writing and communication proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to staffing schedules and attendance policies.
• Participates in On-Call rotation for PACU.
• Supervises staff and directs ancillary personnel in perioperative care.
• Provides direct patient care and demonstrates clinical competence.
• Assists in orientation of new staff and upholds facility values.
• Maintains service, quality, and cost-conscious care metrics.
• Contributes to performance improvement and quality initiatives.
• Documents care per policy and maintains HIPAA confidentiality.
