Job summary

South Texas Spine & Surgical Hospital is seeking a PACU Registered Nurse to provide peri-operative care under the PeriAnesthesia Director. Responsibilities include direct and indirect patient care across age groups, nursing process application, and collaboration with nursing leadership to ensure cost-effective, safe, high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Must be eligible for employment in the U.S.
• Graduate of nursing program with current RN license in Texas.
• BLS & ACLS required or obtained within 30 days of hire; PALS within 60 days of hire.
• 2 years of nursing experience in ICU/ED/Recovery or other critical care setting.
• Knowledge of professional nursing standards and healthcare regulations.
• Able to communicate effectively in English; additional languages preferred.
• Computer literacy to perform job duties.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to staffing schedules and attendance policies.
• Participates in On-Call rotation for PACU.
• Leads and delegates to ancillary staff in pre-/post-operative areas.
• Provides direct patient care and demonstrates clinical competence.
• Participates in staff orientation and departmental meetings.
• Contributes to competency programs and Cornerstone modules.
• Maintains high standards of patient care and confidentiality.
