Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health in New Jersey is seeking a dedicated RN to join the PACU team at Community Medical Center. This part-time evening position focuses on post-anesthesia care, patient assessment, safe medication administration, and collaboration with surgeons and clinicians to ensure smooth transitions of care.

Eligible candidates hold an active NJ RN license, current BLS/ACLS/PALS, and EPIC experience; a Bachelor’s degree and perioperative or critical care background are preferred.

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey RN license
• Current American Heart Association BLS, ACLS & PALS certifications
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing strongly preferred
• At least 1 year current patient care experience in Peri-OP or Critical Care
• Comfort with EMR systems (EPIC)

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and recognize clinical changes, intervening when needed
• Administer safe, evidence-based medications and provide hands-on care
• Collaborate with physicians and providers to coordinate timely care decisions
• Educate patients and families to prepare for next care steps
• Document accurately in the EHR to ensure continuity and safety
• Engage in interdisciplinary rounds to support smooth transitions of care
• Contribute to a collaborative team and pursue ongoing professional growth
