Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health's Post Anesthesia Care Unit is seeking an experienced RN to join our Jersey City Medical Center team as a per diem day-shift RN, with every-other-weekend availability. The role emphasizes comprehensive patient assessment, safe medication administration, and coordinated care transitions in a dynamic PACU/ICU environment.

A NJ RN license, BLS, ACLS, and Basic Dysrhythmia knowledge are required, along with 2 years PACU/ICU experience.

Qualifications

Active New Jersey RN license in good standing.
Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
Basic Dysrhythmia course completed and ACLS required.
Bachelor’s degree in nursing is required or actively enrolled in BSN program.

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and recognize subtle clinical changes, intervening early.
Provide safe, evidence-based medications, treatments, and hands-on care.
Serve as a clinical partner to physicians and advanced providers for timely decisions.
Educate patients and families to ensure they feel informed and prepared for next care steps.
Ensure accurate documentation in the EMR to promote continuity and safety.
Contribute to interdisciplinary rounds to improve communication and transitions of care.
Collaborate in a team-oriented environment to support patient outcomes.
