Job summary

Sierra Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse to work per diem in the PACU, providing direct patient care across age groups from infant to geriatric. You will monitor postoperative status, communicate with surgeons and anesthesiologists, and assist with equipment and performance improvement activities.

Ideal candidates are graduates of an NLN-approved RN program with an active Nevada license, BLS and ACLS certifications, and PACU experience.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program.
Current Nevada nursing license.
Current BLS certificate.
Two (2) years minimum of nursing experience.
Prefer one year full time or three years part time experience in acute care PACU setting.
Current ACLS required.
Handle with Care (or obtained within six months of employment) in required speciality.
Must successfully pass any pre-employment assessment(s) required by the facility.

Responsibilities

Demonstrates supportivebehaviors necessary for performing bedside report using IMAP & SBAR.
Perform head to toe pre-procedure assessment on all patients and reassesses post procedure as needed.
Ability to formulate an individualized plan of care as indicated and evaluates for effectiveness.
Adequately assess and reassess pain. Utilizes appropriate pain management techniques.
Educates the patient and family regarding pain management.
