Job summary

Advocate Health seeks an experienced RN for the PACU department in the United States. This full-time position offers 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday with call, and pays $38.20–$57.30 per hour depending on experience and qualifications.

The role emphasizes applying the nursing process, collaborating with the care team, maintaining safety, and documenting in the EHR while addressing age-specific patient needs and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• Active RN license with privileges to practice where providing services.
• BLS certification; additional certifications may be required by specialty.
• Typically requires 1 year of clinical nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Engages in unit councils, governance, and quality initiatives to improve care processes.
• Uses the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate care with patient/family involvement.
• Monitors patient conditions, adjusts care plans, collaborates with the care team, and improves outcomes.
• Upholds and promotes a culture of safety.
• May administer medications, treatments, and therapies per clinical protocols.
• Maintains accurate, timely EHR documentation and supports age-specific patient needs.
• May float to other units as needed and adapt to department policies.
