Job summary

The Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care to patients recovering from anesthesia and surgical procedures. Utilizing the nursing process, the PACU RN assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care to promote safe recovery and positive patient outcomes.

PER DIEM RATE: $56.50 / HOUR Pay Range: $45.14 - $56.44 Hourly. Requirements: Associate Degree in Nursing, current RN license, BLS and ACLS certifications; prior PACU/critical care experience

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing required.
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
• BLS certification required; ACLS required.
• Previous PACU, critical care, emergency, perioperative, or related nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess, monitor, and evaluate patients during post‑anesthesia recovery.
• Administer medications, treatments, and interventions in accordance with established policies and professional standards.
• Recognize and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition and emergency situations.
• Collaborate with physicians, anesthesia providers, and other members of the healthcare team to coordinate patient care.
• Educate patients and caregivers regarding recovery, medications, and discharge instructions.
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory, safety, infection prevention, and quality standards.
