Job summary
HCA Houston Healthcare Clear Lake seeks a PACU Registered Nurse to provide high-quality postoperative care. You will monitor neurological and cardiac status, manage airway support, and collaborate with the surgical and anesthesia team to ensure patient stability.
On-call availability may be required during select non-business hours. This role works with CNAs, PCTs, charge nurses, and an internal RN float pool.
Qualifications
- RN license required
- Associate Degree in Nursing or BSN required
- ACLS within 6 months of employment start date
- BLS within 30 days of employment start date
- PALS within 6 months of employment start date
- 1 year RN experience in an acute care setting
- Critical Care experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care while applying evidence-based practices and continuous improvement initiatives
- Be an integral member of a dynamic interdisciplinary team – including providers, therapy, and more
- Consistently apply the nursing process, critical thinking, scientific judgment, and leadership to independently deliver safe nursing care
- Assess patient condition, monitor throughout your shift, and document changes and care provided
- Educate patients and families/caregivers about medical conditions, treatment and follow-up measures
