Job summary

MercyOne Genesis Davenport Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide high-quality nursing care to patients of all ages. The role supports a team-based approach, coordinating care during admission, transfer, and discharge.

Expect rotating day shifts with on-call requirements; duties vary by unit and shift planning. The ideal candidate will hold an Iowa RN license (Illinois licensure acceptable with eventual dual-licensure) and may have OR experience.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in nursing required.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Current Iowa RN license; MercyOneGenesis – current Registered Nurse (RN) license in either Iowa or Illinois is required at the time of hire. A secondary RN license for the other state must be obtained within 12 months of the hire date.
• Operating Room experience preferred.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter – Child and/or Dependent Adult Abuse training within three (3) months of hire.
• Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.
• Must possess a personal presence that is characterized by honesty, integrity, and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the philosophy, mission, vision, goals, and values of Trinity Health and MercyOne.

Responsibilities

• Administers nursing care to patients; includes assessment, planning, implementing, and evaluating the patient’s care plan in coordination with the physician.
• Provides nursing care guided by physician orders, unit protocols and professional judgment.
• Communicates effectively and appropriately with staff, physicians, patients, families and other healthcare team members.
• Participates in ongoing educational activities related to clinical knowledge and professional issues.
• Contributes to the professional development of peers and colleagues by sharing knowledge and skills.
• Delivers care in a manner that preserves and protects patient autonomy, dignity and rights.
• Uses hospital information systems to process orders/data and retrieve patient information.

Education

Associate degree in nursing
