Job summary

MercyOne Medical Group in Davenport, IA is seeking a registered nurse for the NICU. This full‑time role (0.9 FTE, 36 hours per week) covers the 7am–7:30pm shifts and requires nursing expertise across labor and delivery, postpartum, newborn, and pediatric care.

You will supervise LPNs and assistants, coordinate with physicians, and support families with resources. The ideal candidate holds an Iowa RN license, BLS, and familiarity with electronic health records; BSN is preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in nursing required.
• BSN preferred.
• Current Iowa RN license required; Illinois license acceptable if working in IL.
• AHA BLS required.
• Mandatory Reporter training within 3 months of hire.
• Strong math and communication abilities.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial patient assessments and care planning for mothers, newborns, and pediatric patients.
• Coordinate care with LPNs, Assistants, and physicians; ensure clear communication with families.
• Implement care plans, administer medications, and educate patients and families.
• Support discharge planning with resources for newborn care, breastfeeding, and pediatric follow-up.
• Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to safety and infection control standards.
• Influence care through collaboration with case management and social work.
