Job summary

The Advanced Medical Support Assistant (AMSA) position in the Primary Care Clinics at the Oconomowoc Clinic Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) supports the VHA Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) transformation. Responsibilities

• Schedule appointments and manage the Electronic Waiting List with patient input to minimize trips to the medical center.
• Adjust appointment times, locations, or dates to support clinic access contingency plans and reallocate to other providers.
• Provide pre-appointment prep materials and instructions prior to visits.
• Participate in daily huddles and treatment team meetings.
• Attend staff meetings to address patient flow and record control issues.
• Review active/pending consults, unverified orders, recall lists, and audiocare communications for accuracy.
• Intervene to resolve problems and diffuse potential dissatisfaction with VA services.
