Job summary

Amcor in Alsip, IL is seeking a production associate to read work orders, inspect quality, assist with machinery start‑ups, and ensure packaging requirements are met. You will perform regular quality checks and document paperwork in JDE, while maintaining a clean, safe work area and accurate labeling on cartons.

The role involves following GMPs, adhering to packaging standards, and participating in monthly workplace observations and continuous improvement efforts.

Qualifications

• Read and use a tape measure to verify dimensions.
• Operate a weigh scale to measure product weights.
• Demonstrate manual dexterity for packaging tasks.

Responsibilities

• Read work order for product specifications and any special instructions concerning packaging, special skids, cartons, cradles, banding requirements, and samples
• Inspects products for customer requirements and any defects
• Assists in start-up and changeover of machinery or orders
• Performs all required quality checks on all orders on a regular basis
• Adheres to all packaging requirements per Production Work Order
• Capable of entering production in JDE and printing all necessary paperwork, including closing out last skid of order
• Completes at least one Work Place Observation per month
• Place customer labels on end of cartons or gaylords in a straight and neat manner; adhere to any and all identification sheets, tally sheets, bar codes as requested by the customer
• Follow AIB Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) per written procedures and practices
• Ensure proper housekeeping and safety by maintaining a clean and orderly work area
• Maintain paperwork in order and not inter‑mixed with orders that are completed or about to run
