Job summary

The Pictsweet Company is seeking a Packaging Technician to join our Repack maintenance team. You will maintain and repair packaging line equipment, govern safety procedures, and work with cross-functional teams to minimize downtime while ensuring quality standards.

Ideal candidates have experience in high-speed production, hydraulic/pneumatic systems, and PLCs, with forklift certification and knowledge of Fanuc/robot equipment. Training on our packaging lines will be provided.

Qualifications

• Must communicate effectively in writing and verbally in English.
• Good understanding of basic mathematics.
• Practical understanding of mechanical operations, hydraulic & pneumatic systems, electrical controls and PLCs.
• Able to excel in a cooperative team environment.
• Forklift certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair hydraulic systems, weigh machines, packaging machines, metal detectors, pneumatic systems, material handling systems, electrical controls and PLCs.
• Develop solutions to limit downtime and improve production.
• Perform daily maintenance and repair of packaging line(s) to ensure optimum production and quality.
• Evaluate mechanical performance and plan adjustments.
• Maintain mechanical records and reports.
• Handle special projects as assigned.
• Communicate with plant supervision about production and resolve problems.
• Ensure a safe workplace and follow safety programs.
• Collaborate with supervisors, maintenance personnel, machine operators and production workers to optimize packaging equipment.
