Job summary

United Petfood Producers USA Inc. is seeking a Production Operator I for the 2nd shift in Decatur, AR. The role involves setting up and operating packaging equipment, monitoring performance, and maintaining sanitation to meet quality standards.

The ideal candidate will have mechanical aptitude, ability to use basic hand tools, and experience with or willingness to learn computerized packaging equipment. This is a full-time position with a daytime shift differential and a Monday–Friday schedule.

Qualifications

• Ability to work in an environment with odor, noise, heat, cold, dust and chemicals.
• Stand for extended periods of time.
• Lift 35-50 pounds, push/pull up to 50 pounds, reach overhead, bend to floor.
• Demonstrate mechanical aptitude.
• Use basic hand tools.
• Experience with or ability to learn computerized equipment (scales, controllers, HMI).

Responsibilities

• Set up, start up and operate packaging equipment per production schedule.
• Monitor equipment and adjust, perform small repairs and basic maintenance.
• Perform sanitation tasks to meet quality standards.
• Complete re-work as necessary.
• Document packaging process and material transfers in the RedZone system.
• Perform in-process quality checks on representative samples to ensure correct packaging.
• Clean, disassemble and reassemble line equipment for inspection or deep cleaning.
• Changeover and set up for runs; load product; adjust settings; obtain line clearance.
• Follow safety procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices.
• All other duties as assigned.
