Job summary

United Petfood is a private label producer of high-quality dry & wet pet food, biscuits and snacks, with a Belgian background and US presence. The Production Operator I - Packaging is responsible for correctly and safely packaging production, operating equipment, and ensuring quality on the Decatur, AR line during the 10:00 PM–6:30 AM shift.

The role requires setup, calibration, basic troubleshooting, sanitation, logging materials, and adherence to GMP and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Ability to work where odor, noise, heat, cold, dust and chemicals may be present.
• Stand for extended periods of time.
• Lift 35–50 pounds to move ingredients and finished product.
• Demonstrate mechanical aptitude and use basic hand tools.
• Experience with or ability to learn computerized equipment and interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Set up, start up and operate packaging equipment per production schedule.
• Monitor equipment, adjust settings, perform basic maintenance and changeovers.
• Perform sanitation tasks to meet quality standards.
• Complete re-work as required and maintain logs of packaging process.
• Conduct in-process quality checks on representative samples.
• Changeover/setup machine for next run and obtain line clearance.
• Follow safety procedures and GMP policies.
