Job summary

United Petfood is seeking a Production Operator I - Packaging for 1st shift in Decatur, AR. You will set up and operate packaging equipment, monitor processes, and ensure product quality. Maintain records in RedZone, perform sanitation, and complete re-work as needed.

Must be able to lift 35–50 pounds, stand for long periods, and work Monday–Friday 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM. Prior production/packaging experience is a plus. Join a private-label producer with global reach and a focus on quality and safety.

Qualifications

• Able to work in an environment with odor, noise, heat, cold, dust and chemicals.
• Able to stand for extended periods.
• Able to lift 35-50 pounds to move ingredients and finished product; push/pull up to 50 pounds.
• Demonstrate mechanical aptitude and use basic hand tools.
• Experience with or ability to learn computerized equipment (e.g., scales, controllers).
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Set up, start up and operate packaging equipment according to production schedule.
• Monitor equipment and perform adjustments, changeovers, small repairs and basic maintenance.
• Perform sanitation tasks to meet quality standards.
• Complete re-work as necessary.
• Maintain records and logs in the RedZone system documenting packaging process and material transfers.
• Perform in-process quality checks on representative samples to ensure correct packaging.
• Clean, disassemble and reassemble line equipment for inspection or deep cleaning.
• Changeover/setup machine for run by loading product and adjusting settings; obtain line clearance.
• Follow safety procedures and GMPs; report deviations and safety issues.
• All other duties as assigned.
