Job summary

Hickory Springs Manufacturing Company is hiring a Packaging Tech for 2nd shift in Hickory, NC. The role runs Monday through Friday, 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM.

Base pay is $16.00/hour plus a $2.00/hour shift differential, for a total of $18.00/hour. You will read and follow daily line assignments, assemble boxes, apply labels, spot obvious defects, and coordinate with material handlers and packers to keep production moving.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and understand verbal and written instructions.
• Must have minimal math skills.
• High school diploma preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Understand daily line assignment such as piece count, label, and shrink-wrapping requirements.
• Assemble boxes and apply correct labels.
• Identify any obvious defects in products and report them.
• Communicate with material handlers, operators, and packers to solve concerns.
• Scrap foam using racks when product isn’t ready to pack.
• Complete proper set up and shut down procedures.
• Practice proper safety and housekeeping during each shift.
• Must be able to work well within a team.
• WIP, rework, or non-conforming product.
• Maintain safe operation.
