Job summary

Pures Food Specialties LLC is seeking a Manufacturing Shift Supervisor to oversee packaging lines, coach operators, and ensure safe, efficient production in a fast-paced facility in Melrose Park, IL.

The role emphasizes strong communication with teams and leadership in enforcing quality control, safety, and company policies while maintaining high productivity.

Qualifications

• Must have experience directing employees and operating and diagnosing packaging equipment.
• Ability to communicate with both direct reports and management.
• Understanding of FDA guidelines and company policies.
• Bilingual is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee packaging lines and ensure efficient production under the shift supervisor.
• Coordinate work procedures, schedules and attendance; monitor performance.
• Enforce safety policies, food safety and LOTO requirements; ensure equipment is operational.
• Guide and train operators to maintain high efficiency and minimize downtime.
• Document downtime, quality checks and adherence to guidelines.

About this position

Description:

• Operations of all packaging lines under the supervisor of the shift supervisor.
• Supervises and coordinates activities such as work procedures, employee rotation, work schedules and attendance
• Evaluates and recommends employees for hire or termination
• Coordinates with management to assure production activities are as efficient as possible
• Enforce company safety, break & lunch policies
• Actively seek to resolve any concerns while adhering to the company policy and standards of behavior
• Tracks and communicates employee performance and provides disciplinary / corrective action as needed
• Train and coach other operators and line employees to maintain high efficiency with minimal down time
• Coordinates with management to assure production activities are as efficient as possible
• Ensure all packaging equipment is in operational condition
• Establish tasks for employees to ensure a clean workplace
• Document down time and lost efficiency
• Ensure quality guide lines for products are followed
• Enforce all FDA and company guidelines
• Assist with Continuous Improvement
• Maintain LOTO certification
• Review and assist with all quality control documents
• Ensure Food Safety of Production
• Communicates with all cross functional shift activities from other shifts to operations team on a daily basis
• Perform miscellaneous duties as required by management

Experience: Must have experience in giving direction to employees and operating and diagnosing equipment

PREFERRED SKILLS

• Must be able to communicate with both direct report employees and management
• Must have understanding of FDA guide lines and company policies. Mathematical skills
• Bilingual is preferred

Work Environment & Physical demands

• This position works in a manufacturing facility and requires standing, bending, climbing or walking 80% of the time
• Must frequently twist, bend, and stoop when performing work tasks.
• Frequently carry or lift 50 pounds or more.
