Job summary

Gray AES is seeking a Packaging Engineering Intern in our Atlanta, GA office for Summer 2027. The role supports the packaging team on complex, integrated projects from FEL/FEED through commissioning, under the guidance of senior engineers.

Strong communication, technical writing, and MS Office proficiency are required, with 2D CAD experience a plus. Candidates should be pursuing an MS or BS in mechanical, industrial, or packaging systems engineering, with an emphasis on packaging systems

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Bachelor of Science Degree in mechanical, industrial or packaging systems engineering; emphasis on packaging systems preferred.
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written, to coordinate across project disciplines.
  • Proficiency in MS Office; advanced Excel skills are a plus.
  • Technical writing experience or skills are required.
  • Ability to learn about and evaluate existing processing and packaging operations and drive ROI-improving solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Reinforce the project team as part of the packaging team on complex, fully integrated projects.
  • Support the technical lead on packaging system design and integration development including line speed analysis and drawings.
  • Provide input to packaging system budget and schedule documentation in collaboration with the team.
  • Under guidance, generate equipment performance requirements and participate in FATs, reviews, and trials.
  • Assist in preparing technical documentation such as process flows and equipment lists.
