Job summary

Gray AES is seeking a Packaging Engineering Intern in our Atlanta, GA office for Summer 2027. The role supports the packaging team on complex, integrated projects from FEL/FEED through commissioning, under the guidance of senior engineers.

Strong communication, technical writing, and MS Office proficiency are required, with 2D CAD experience a plus. Candidates should be pursuing an MS or BS in mechanical, industrial, or packaging systems engineering, with an emphasis on packaging systems

Qualifications

Pursuing a Bachelor of Science Degree in mechanical, industrial or packaging systems engineering; emphasis on packaging systems preferred.
Effective communication skills, both oral and written, to coordinate across project disciplines.
Proficiency in MS Office; advanced Excel skills are a plus.
Technical writing experience or skills are required.
Ability to learn about and evaluate existing processing and packaging operations and drive ROI-improving solutions.

Responsibilities

Reinforce the project team as part of the packaging team on complex, fully integrated projects.
Support the technical lead on packaging system design and integration development including line speed analysis and drawings.
Provide input to packaging system budget and schedule documentation in collaboration with the team.
Under guidance, generate equipment performance requirements and participate in FATs, reviews, and trials.
Assist in preparing technical documentation such as process flows and equipment lists.
