Job summary

Gray AES is seeking a Packaging Engineer III to join our team. This role supports and/or leads the design, installation and commissioning of packaging lines for consumer products across multiple sites and remote projects.

The ideal candidate holds a BS in mechanical/industrial/packaging systems engineering with 5+ years in packaging equipment systems; proficiency in MS Office and 2D CAD; and willingness to travel up to 70% to support diverse projects.

Qualifications

• BS degree in mechanical, industrial or packaging systems engineering; emphasis on packaging systems preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in packaging equipment systems engineering.
• Experience with food & beverage, life sciences, CPG or pharmaceuticals is a plus.
• Effective communication across project disciplines; strong written and oral skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office; advanced Excel a plus.
• 2D CAD experience a plus.
• Experience in large capital project engineering/management, especially packaging lines.
• Advanced understanding of automation control systems (PLC, HMI, VFDs) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support and/or lead design, installation and commissioning of manufacturing lines focused on packaging operations.
• Prepare equipment lists, data sheets, block flow diagrams, P&IDs as needed.
• Assist in preparing vendor and contractor bid and construction packages; bid analysis.
• Travel is a regular expectation; ranges from 20% to 70% depending on project/location.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver ROI and productivity improvements.
