Responsibilities

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair automated packaging equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Own production metrics such as downtime, changeover time, PM completion, and productivity.
  • Perform scheduled PMs and ensure compliance with cGMP, SOPs, and safety policies.
  • Collaborate with fellow mechanics to setup and resolve issues on complex machinery.

Job description

We are seeking a skilled Packaging Mechanic with at least 2 years of hands‑on experience to join our production team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing automated packaging equipment while upholding strict cGMP standards and safety guidelines. Key Responsibilities
  • Equipment Maintenance & Repair: Perform installation, troubleshooting, and repairs on electrical, pneumatic, electronic, and mechanical systems of process and packaging machinery.
  • Operational Performance: Own key production metrics, including Downtime, Changeover Time, Preventive Maintenance (PM) completion, and overall Productivity.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Complete scheduled PMs accurately and within allotted timeframes to maintain peak equipment efficiency.
  • Cross-Functional Support: Partner with fellow mechanics to set up, fine‑tune, and resolve issues on complex machinery.
  • Parts & Inventory: Select and log required repair parts from the storeroom. Maintain the parts logbook and document issues using "One Point Lesson" troubleshooting forms.
  • Safety & Compliance: Strictly adhere to cGMP, SOPs, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and company Safety, Health, and Environmental policies. Maintain a 100% functional, safe, clean, and organized work area.
  • Continuous Improvement: Recommend maintenance enhancements to reduce costs, eliminate safety hazards, and rapidly restart machinery during critical business needs. Immediately escape unsafe conditions to leadership.
Qualifications
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a maintenance or packaging mechanic in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Technical Skills:Proficiency in mechanical, electrical, electronic, and pneumatic troubleshooting and repair.
  • Compliance Knowledge: Proven track record working under cGMP standards, company SOPs, and strict LOTO protocols.
  • Schedule Flexibility: Ability to work a 12-hour shift schedule and consistently work ~20 hours of overtime per week.
  • Soft Skills:Communication skills, proactive problem‑solving ability, and a team‑first mindset.

Responsibilities
  • Compliance & Safety: Adhere strictly to cGMP, SOP, Lockout/Tagout, Health, and Environmental policies while maintaining a clean, safe work area.
  • Maintenance & Repair: Execute scheduled preventive maintenance (PMs), set up, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and electronic process equipment.
  • Performance & Efficiency: Minimize machine downtime, optimize changeover times, and rapidly restart equipment to meet productivity targets.
  • Parts & Inventory: Select repair parts from the storeroom and track equipment deterioration using the parts logbook and troubleshooting forms.
  • Teamwork & Communication: Collaborate with fellow mechanics, report unsafe conditions to supervisors, and recommend equipment improvements to lower costs and reduce hazards.
The essential functions of this role include:
