Job summary

Spectra Tech, Inc. in Memphis, Tennessee is seeking a Packaging Manager to lead all packaging line operations, improve equipment performance, and supervise packaging staff to meet safety, quality, and budget targets.

You will drive lean initiatives, enforce GMP/HACCP/SQF principles, coordinate with maintenance, QA, and supply chain, and ensure accurate labeling, seal integrity, and correct weights across finished products.

Qualifications

• 3–7+ years of supervisory or technical experience in food and beverage manufacturing.
• Ability to build productive relationships with regulatory agencies, vendors, customers, and staff.
• Strong presentation and communication skills for internal and external audiences.
• Ability to negotiate contracts and interpret complex documents.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
• Technical skills in materials management, inventory control, production scheduling, and preventive maintenance.
• Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, Safety and ISO programs.
• Attention to detail and a methodical problem-solving approach.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to operate standard office equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operations Oversight: run daily packing schedules and maximize output speed.
• Food Safety & Compliance: enforce sanitation standards (GMP, HACCP, SQF).
• Team Leadership: hire, train, and mentor operators and supervisors.
• Quality Control: inspect packages for seal integrity, labeling, and weight.
• Continuous Improvement: lead lean projects to reduce waste and costs.
• Cross-Functional Work: partner with maintenance, QA, and supply chain.
