Job summary

Quantix in Baytown, Texas, seeks a Packaging Lead to oversee packaging functions in a safe, efficient environment. You will train, supervise and coordinate staff, manage paperwork, and ensure proper labeling, inventory, and quality control across packaging lines.

You will operate forklifts, set up printers, perform light maintenance, and assist with railcar movement while following EHS, GPPs, and housekeeping standards. Expect rotating shifts and weekend coverage as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Strong leadership skills and ability to work independently.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.
• Capability to work efficiently under pressure and adapt to last-minute changes.
• Problem-solving initiative to address workplace challenges.
• Forklift driving skills required.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to work in varied weather conditions (heat, cold, humidity).
• Ability to lift, push, kneel, carry, and reach with arms and hands.

Responsibilities

• Train and supervise all personnel under this position to ensure total customer satisfaction.
• Schedule work processes and take responsibility for quality and efficiency.
• Supervise safe operations at packaging lines, ensuring compliance with regulations.
• Verify all paperwork to ensure customer instructions are accurately followed.
• Conduct bulk verification before starting new railcar or bulk orders.
• Print and verify labels from K1, ensuring correct item, lot, weight, and country of origin when applicable.
• Set up and maintain printers, ensuring test print accuracy.
• Operate and maintain safe packaging, material handling, and visual inspection processes within EHS and quality guidelines.
• Follow and maintain Good Packaging Practices (GPPs).
• Complete all required paperwork before order submission.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and verify physical stock with K1 data.
• Perform light maintenance tasks as needed.
• Conduct blowdowns and line inspections before every order.
• Set up transfer hoses for railcar packaging while following GPPs.
• Enforce rail yard safety guidelines when moving railcars.
• Complete daily productivity reports and Shoplogix logs.
• Maintain warehouse cleanliness and adhere to Quantix housekeeping standards.
• Treat team members with fairness and respect.
• Follow the chain of command and maintain clear communication with management.
• Comply with all EHS, Responsible Care, and Operation Clean Sweep guidelines.
• Complete assigned training via Paylocity.
• Utilize Stop Work Authority when necessary.
• Maintain organization and cleanliness within assigned areas.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
