Job summary

Welser Profile North America seeks a Packaging and Logistics Specialist to manage packaging master data, inventories, and related planning in SAP. You will coordinate with Purchasing, Material Handling, Shipping, and Quality teams to ensure materials availability for production and launches.

Qualifications

Associate's degree in engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Business, or a related field preferred.
2-5 years of experience in manufacturing, engineering, packaging, supply chain, logistics, inventory management, material handling, or project coordination.
Experience working in a manufacturing environment required.
Experience with warehouse operations, inventory management, and material handling preferred.
SAP or ERP experience preferred.
CAD or technical drawing experience preferred.
Strong organizational and project management skills.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
Ability to work effectively across departments and with global teams.
Knowledge of manufacturing, logistics, inventory control, material handling, warehouse operations, and supply chain processes.
Strong computer proficiency including Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
Self-motivated with a continuous improvement mindset.

Responsibilities

Manage packaging-related master data and planning activities in SAP.
Manage customer-owned and company-owned packaging inventories.
Coordinate purchasing activities for packaging materials and services.
Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment activities.
Support receiving, storage, organization, and inventory control of packaging materials.
Partner with Material Handling to improve packaging storage, organization, and material flow throughout the facility.
Develop and maintain processes that improve packaging inventory accuracy, traceability, and accessibility.
Investigate and resolve packaging shortages, inventory discrepancies, and material availability issues.
Coordinate staging and delivery of packaging materials to production work centers.
Ensure packaging requirements are established and available to support production schedules and new product launches.
Support Production, Material Handling, Shipping, and Quality teams on packaging-related issues.
Troubleshoot packaging issues impacting production, quality, safety, or delivery performance.
Promote compliance with packaging standards, specifications, and work instructions.
Support customer and intercompany shipments requiring specialized packaging solutions.
Act as the primary site resource for packaging-related problem solving and cross-functional coordination.
Lead and support cross-functional continuous improvement initiatives.
Utilize root cause analysis and corrective actions to eliminate recurring packaging issues.
Drive improvements in operational efficiency, packaging performance, and inventory accuracy.
