Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • 2-5 years of experience in manufacturing, engineering, packaging, supply chain, logistics, inventory management, material handling, or project coordination.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment required.
  • Experience with warehouse operations, inventory management, and material handling preferred.
  • SAP or ERP experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage packaging-related master data and planning activities in SAP.
  • Manage customer-owned and company-owned packaging inventories.
  • Coordinate purchasing activities for packaging materials and services.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment activities.
  • Support receiving, storage, organization, and inventory control of packaging materials.
  • Partner with Material Handling to improve packaging storage, organization, and material flow throughout the facility.
  • Develop and maintain processes that improve packaging inventory accuracy, traceability, and accessibility.
  • Investigate and resolve packaging shortages, inventory discrepancies, and material availability issues.
  • Coordinate staging and delivery of packaging materials to production work centers.
  • Ensure packaging requirements are established and available to support production schedules and new product launches.
  • Support Production, Material Handling, Shipping, and Quality teams on packaging-related issues.
  • Troubleshoot packaging issues impacting production, quality, safety, or delivery performance.
  • Promote compliance with packaging standards, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Support customer and intercompany shipments requiring specialized packaging solutions.
  • Act as the primary site resource for packaging-related problem solving and cross-functional coordination.
  • Lead and support cross-functional continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Utilize root cause analysis and corrective actions to eliminate recurring packaging issues.

Description

Packaging Material Flow, Inventory & Warehouse Management

  • Manage packaging-related master data and planning activities in SAP.

  • Serve as the primary liaison with the Global Packaging Engineering Team.
  • Coordinate implementation of new packaging concepts and engineering changes.
  • Provide feedback on packaging designs based on manufacturing, material handling, shipping, quality, and customer requirements.
  • Support packaging trials, validation activities, and new product launches.
  • Maintain packaging documentation, standards, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Assist with packaging drawing modifications and updates when required.
  • Support standardization and continuous improvement of packaging concepts across the facility.

Safety & Continuous Improvement

  • Promote safe storage, handling, and use of packaging materials throughout the facility.
  • Support compliance with company safety procedures and standards.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve packaging processes, warehouse organization, inventory management, and material flow.
  • Lead and support cross-functional continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Utilize root cause analysis and corrective actions to eliminate recurring packaging issues.
  • Drive improvements in operational efficiency, packaging performance, and inventory accuracy.

Backup Responsibilities

  • Provide backup support for MRO Purchasing functions as needed.
  • Provide backup support for MRO Stores and inventory functions as needed.
