Job summary

Lamb Weston, Inc. in Boardman, Oregon, is seeking a maintenance technician to monitor packaging and palletizing equipment, perform routine and non-routine maintenance, and ensure safe operation on the plant floor.

The role requires adherence to safety protocols, proficiency with preventive maintenance, and the ability to troubleshoot, repair, and install equipment with minimal supervision. Candidates should be comfortable with physical demands and working near moving parts.

Qualifications

• Two year certificate from college or technical school; or a minimum of three years related experience and/or training.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English.
• Ability to effectively present or listen to information in one-on-one and small group situations with all other employees of the organization in English

Responsibilities

• Maintain safe work practices at all times and participate in safety programs.
• Perform and document line checks and preventative maintenance, including lubrication and inspection of equipment to prevent premature failure.
• Troubleshoot, remove, install, disassemble, repair, and assemble plant equipment.
• Perform non-routine maintenance jobs assigned by packaging maintenance lead, maintenance team leader, or production team leader, and will perform repairs with minimum supervision.
• Understand and use approved lockout procedures.
• Operate forklift and man lift safely.
• Be a respirator user and meet Lamb Weston Respiratory Protection Program qualifications.
• Be an emergency response team member (Hazardous Materials Technician) meeting 29 CFR 1910.120 requirements.
• Identify and name stainless steel, mild steel and aluminum; maintain neat work area; follow logs and manuals; train new employees in repair procedures; assist in repairs in other areas.
