Job summary

Amcor Rigid Packaging in the United States is seeking a Capital Projects Manager to drive complex PET preform and container manufacturing initiatives. You will oversee projects from concept through qualification, ensuring productivity, timing and budget alignment.

You will review feasibility, manage plant infrastructure upgrades, and coordinate across regions with plant managers and regional directors, maintaining safety and environmental standards throughout.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in mechanical or electrical engineering.
• Minimum of seven years professional engineering experience in plastics packaging, including seven years of project management experience.
• Strong interpersonal, management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Create bills of materials for new capital projects and support the capital appropriation process.
• Ensure that corporate safety and environmental requirements are incorporated into the project scope and budget.
• Refine feasibility studies with input from directors and plant managers into actionable implementation plans.
• Review plant infrastructure, layout and equipment against project requirements and plan upgrades.
• Analyze performance and cost of equipment, tooling and workflow.
• Communicate timing and budget issues; publish weekly status reports.
• Maintain division technical specifications and documentation for Operations Engineering.
• Regularly communicate with plants to monitor long-term project performance and resolve issues.
• Review CEAV requests for accuracy and compliance.
• Travel ~60%.
