Job summary

Amcor Rigid Packaging is seeking a capable professional to manage complex capital projects related to PET preforms and rigid containers. You will oversee multiple projects from conception to qualification across sites, ensuring productivity, timing and budget adherence while supporting manufacturing improvements.

You will lead material planning, feasibility studies, safety and environmental compliance, and coordination with regional directors and plant managers. Travel ~60% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
• Seven years of professional engineering experience in plastics packaging with seven years of project management.
• Knowledge of plant layouts and infrastructure equipment.
• Experience managing direct reports.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.
• Experience with SPC and cross-functional collaboration.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Create bills of materials for new capital projects and support the capital appropriation process.
• Ensure that corporate safety and environmental requirements are incorporated into the project scope and budget.
• Refine feasibility studies into an action plan with input from leadership and resources, meeting cost and timing criteria.
• Review plant infrastructure, layout and equipment; develop and manage upgrade plans.
• Analyze and evaluate performance and cost of new or existing equipment.
• Communicate and resolve technical, timing and budget issues; publish weekly project status reports.
• Create and maintain division level technical specifications, standards and documentation.
• Communicate with plants regularly to monitor long term project performance and issues.
• Review CEAV requests for accuracy and compliance.
• Travel ~60%.
