JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for driving profitable growth of commercial bulk propane sales within an assigned territory. Develops new business opportunities and manages existing customer relationships across commercial, industrial, agricultural, autogas, and wholesale propane segments. Responsible for identifying customer energy needs, developing propane supply solutions, negotiating agreements, coordinating installations, and ensuring an exceptional customer experience while maintaining company safety and compliance standards.
Essential Functions
- Maintain a high level of personal safety performance and regulatory compliance.
- Drive profitable growth of commercial bulk propane gallons, margin, and customer retention within the assigned territory.
- Identify and prospect new commercial propane opportunities including:
- Manufacturing
- Warehousing and logistics
- Agriculture
- Construction
- Hospitality
- Schools and municipalities
- Fleet fueling/autogas
- Develop and execute territory growth plans focused on new tank placements and gallon generation.
- Negotiate new account agreements, contract renewals, and long-term supply relationships.
- Manage customer portfolio to improve retention, profitability, and gallon growth.
- Conduct facility evaluations and energy assessments to identify propane conversion opportunities.
- Develop proposals and ROI analyses for propane installation projects.
- Coordinate tank installations, equipment projects, and customer onboarding with operations and field teams.
- Serve as the primary customer contact for commercial propane accounts.
- Work with credit and collections teams to maintain healthy accounts receivable.
- Maintain detailed sales activity, pipeline management, and forecasting through CRM systems.
- Monitor competitive activity, pricing trends, and market opportunities within the territory.
- Support customer safety initiatives and propane-related compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with operations, engineering, and customer service teams to ensure successful project execution.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- Associate's Degree
- Bachelor's Degree, Preferred in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Energy Management, or other related fields.
Work Experience
- 1-3 years Three years or more industrial gases sales or operations
- 4-6 years Five Years or more industrial sales experience
- 7-9 years
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong prospecting and territory development skills
- Ability to identify and close complex commercial sales opportunities
- Understanding of propane storage, distribution, and application equipment
- Financial acumen including margin management, payback analysis, and contract negotiations
- Strong presentation and communication skills
- Ability to develop long-term customer relationships with decision makers
- Knowledge of CRM systems and pipeline management processes
- Working knowledge of propane safety standards and regulatory requirements
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and CRM software
