Job summary

FedEx Ground is seeking a Training Specialist for Package Handlers to mentor new PHs in unloading, loading, palletizing, and scanning techniques. The role ensures safe and efficient movement of packages across the operation and reinforces dock safety standards.

You will train peers, provide feedback, and assist managers with process improvements. This position requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, work in a loud environment, and adapt to variable shifts.

Qualifications

• Ability to train multiple peer PHs simultaneously.
• Ability to understand and follow instruction regarding work duties and safety methods.
• Ability to discern numbers and information to sort packages correctly.
• Ability to use basic tools and equipment such as scanners and carts.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills in a fast-paced team.
• PHs operating switching equipment must have a valid driver’s license and maintain a DOT file.

Responsibilities

• Trains new PHs on unloading, loading, palletizing, carrying, SWAK, and non-conveyable handling.
• Provides training to other PHs in unloading, carrying, loading, or smalls handling techniques as needed.
• Provides feedback on proper package handling techniques.
• Reinforces all dock safety standards among peer PHs.
• Updates managers on conditions during sort to support efficiency decisions.
• Assists in implementing new package handling procedures and techniques.
• Regularly loads/unloads, palletizes, lifts, carries, pushes and pulls packages while training others.
