Job summary

6 Degrees Search is seeking an Associate Attorney for its Property & Casualty Insurance practice in Miami, Florida. The role focuses on sophisticated insurance coverage disputes, including bad-faith matters, within a collaborative, client-service oriented environment.

Ideal candidates have 3–6 years of insurance coverage litigation experience, a JD from a top-tier law school, and active Florida Bar admission in good standing.

Qualifications

• JD from a top-tier law school with strong academic record and writing skills
• Active Florida Bar admission in good standing required
• 3–6 years insurance coverage litigation experience
• Substantive experience handling bad-faith insurance matters
• Demonstrated understanding of insurance coverage and bad-faith issues
• Excellent legal research, analytical, and writing skills
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; teamwork oriented
• Commitment to responsive client service; federal/state clerkship a plus

Responsibilities

• Represent insurers and clients in complex insurance coverage litigation
• Analyze policies, coverage issues, exclusions and case law
• Handle bad-faith claims and related disputes
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, and other documents
• Conduct legal research and write analyses on coverage and bad-faith issues
• Manage matters efficiently meeting court, client, and internal deadlines
• Communicate with clients about case developments, strategy, and next steps
• Collaborate with partners and team to develop effective litigation strategies
• Contribute to a service-oriented team that values drive and high-quality work
