Qualifications

Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in actuarial science or related field.
Must have completed at least one actuarial exam (SOA or CAS).
Strong proficiency in statistical analysis.
Proficient in MS Excel and related tools.
Experience with R preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Detail-oriented and organized.

Responsibilities

Analyze large datasets of claims, policyholder information, and related data.
Use Excel or R to clean, organize, and analyze data sets.
Participate in department and project meetings and collaborate cross-functionally.
Assess risks and understand pricing for insurance policies.
Assist actuaries in calculating premiums, reserves, and risk levels.
Learn about Horace Mann's insurance products and actuarial considerations.
Help develop and update financial models to predict future trends.
Shadow seasoned actuaries and participate in industry events.
