Milliman’s San Francisco Tri-State Property and Casualty practice invites motivated students to join as Actuarial Interns for Summer 2027. You will work alongside consultants, engage in product development, pricing, and reserving, and deliver final presentations with mentorship from experienced actuaries.

The role emphasizes the actuarial skillset with opportunities to develop data science and geospatial analysis, and offers exam support and interaction with senior colleagues.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, economics, or a related quantitative field, with at least one semester of school remaining.
• At least one actuarial exam passed at the time of application.
• Experience conducting data analysis using MS Excel
• Experience using MS Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams
• Some exposure to SQL, R, and/or Python

Responsibilities

• Using Excel for preparation of data analysis, checking data for accuracy and consistency (peer review), drafting reports, and maintaining documentation
• Predictive modeling using GLM’s and non-linear methods using mostly SAS, Python and R, to support rate analyses
• Draft written reports and exhibits, and prepare other internal/external correspondence
• Prepare and submit state regulatory filing support documents
• Undertake research projects of varying shape and size
