Job summary

ERM is seeking a Lead Environmental Compliance Manager (Owner's Advisor) to act as the owner’s environmental representative for hyperscale data center construction across multiple states, including Texas, Louisiana, and Georgia. You will translate permit conditions into practical construction practices and collaborate with project managers, general contractors, and the EHS team.

The role requires 8+ years of environmental experience, strong field judgment, and the ability to influence outcomes

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or equivalent experience preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years of environmental experience, including significant experience supporting large construction or capital projects.
• Experience operating as an owner-side environmental leader on major projects.
• Strong knowledge of stormwater, spill prevention, waste management, air and dust controls.
• Extensive hyperscale data center construction experience preferred.
• Willingness to travel extensively across project locations.

Responsibilities

• Provide owner-side environmental compliance leadership across the project, ensuring alignment with requirements and client expectations.
• Establish a project-specific environmental compliance framework to guide CM and contractor execution.
• Maintain field presence to validate environmental controls and permit obligations are followed.
• Coach CM and contractor teams on findings and risks to drive corrective actions.
• Identify environmental risks and recommend mitigation strategies based on regulatory reviews.
• Develop and improve project environmental plans to be executable and field-ready.
• Coordinate with client environmental SMEs and permitting resources to stay aligned with permits.
• Develop, track, and communicate environmental performance metrics to leadership.
• Participate in environmental incident investigations and preventive actions.
• Coordinate with waste vendors and manage chemical inventory data accuracy.
