Veterinary Specialists of Birmingham is seeking an Overnight Veterinary Client Service Receptionist to join our overnight team in Birmingham, AL. This full-time role supports clients, manages front-desk operations, and ensures a welcoming, professional experience for clients and their pets during evening and overnight hours.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of client service experience in a veterinary, medical, or clinical setting preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Comfortable answering phones, assisting clients, processing payments, and managing multiple priorities.
• Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently during overnight hours.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to remain professional and compassionate when working with clients during stressful or emotional situations.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a veterinary hospital team.
• Regular attendance and punctuality are essential.
• Fluent English speaking and reading skills required.

Responsibilities

• Provide an excellent and efficient client experience by greeting clients, answering questions, processing incoming and outgoing patients, and handling payments.
• Answer incoming phone calls, screen service needs, answer questions, and schedule appointments as appropriate.
• Process incoming and outgoing mail and email.
• Monitor and maintain a clean, welcoming client waiting area.
• Accurately document and maintain client information, service data, and other pertinent information in hospital software.
• Escalate complex client or operational matters to senior team members.
• Multitask and prioritize responsibilities effectively in a busy veterinary hospital.
• Work collaboratively with Veterinary Technicians, veterinarians, and other hospital team members.
• Support the hospital, doctors, and practice philosophy through professional and respectful interactions.
• Maintain reliable attendance and punctuality.
