Job summary

Fairmont Pittsburgh is seeking an overnight Stewarding and Housekeeping supervisor to lead the night teams, ensuring consistent cleanliness and safety standards across stewarding and housekeeping areas.

You will coach staff, manage inventory, and collaborate with security during emergencies while maintaining Fairmont’s customer service levels in a luxury setting.

Qualifications

• 2 years of supervisory experience in Food & Beverage or Stewarding.
• Previous cleaning experience required.
• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
• Computer literacy in Microsoft Windows applications preferred.
• University/College degree in a related discipline an asset.
• Highly responsible & reliable.
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work cohesively as part of a team.
• Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the Stewarding and Housekeeping overnight teams.
• Coach housemen and public area attendants on discrepancies in their areas.
• Submit maintenance reports/requests and follow up for completion.
• Check appearance of all employees to ensure compliance with standards.
• Maintain sanitation of kitchen equipment and other areas assigned.
• Maintain inventory of dinnerware, flatware and glassware; order china, glass and silver.
• Inspect equipment and kitchen areas for cleanliness and sanitation.
• Ensure breakages are removed from circulation and inventoried.
• Ensure equipment is in working order and report needed repairs.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment per OSHA requirements.
• Monitor and control labor costs.
• Partner with Hotel Security during emergencies.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Description

What You Will Be Doing:

Lead and supervise the Stewarding and Housekeeping overnight teams in all aspects of the department and ensure standards are followed.

• Coach housemen and public area attendant on any discrepancies in their areas
• Submit maintenance reports/requests in Alice and follow up for completion
• Check appearance of all employees to ensure compliance with Fairmont standards of appearance
• Consistently offers professional, engaging and friendly service
• Supervise and maintain the sanitation of kitchen equipment and other areas assigned
• Maintain inventory and record keeping for all dinnerware, flatware and glassware, order china, glass and silver
• Make routine inspections of all equipment and kitchen areas to ensure that cleanliness and sanitary procedures are maintained
• Ensure all breakages and chipped items are taken out of circulation and inventoried
• Ensure all equipment is in working order and report any items in need of repair
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment in accordance with OSHA requirements
• Monitorand control labor costs
• Partner with Hotel Security when handling emergency situations such as fire alarms, medical emergencies, and systems outages
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
