Job summary

Excel Fitness in Durham, NC is seeking a part-time Team Player to support daily club operations and member service. You will manage shifts, maintain cleanliness, assist with promotions, and help members with equipment and app usage while following company policies.

The role requires 18+, a high school diploma, CPR/AED certification, and strong communication. You’ll work with the GM and AM to ensure safety, inventory, and a welcoming gym atmosphere for members.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• CPR and AED certifications required before solo work.
• Must be comfortable standing for long periods.
• Strong communication with internal and external customers.
• Team-oriented, motivated, and well-organized.
• Ability to think critically and proactively solve problems.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and computer use.
• Must handle sensitive and confidential information.
• Familiar with Planet Fitness brand and operational requirements.

Responsibilities

• Submit Sub Availability Form and update at least 7 days before availability changes.
• Maintain communication with club management and reply within 24 hours.
• Perform to best abilities during assigned shifts.
• Monitor and maintain club cleanliness and atmosphere.
• Stay proficient with Planet Fitness mobile app and updates.
• Ensure all required training is completed for safe operation.
• Conduct regular audits to meet Excel standards.
• Perform walkarounds and complete cleaning tasks.
• Audit and balance cash drawers daily.
• Input and update member information into tablets and POS.
• Ensure members follow company policies and address infractions.
• Provide a safe and secure environment for all members.
• Communicate with members and deliver high-level service.
• Stock retail and janitorial items for shifts.
• Understand and adhere to company standards; resolve day-to-day issues.
• Audit inventory and advise on orders with GM/AM/Lead.
• Stay up to date on required certifications and training.
• Participate in team meetings.
• Promote, tour, and assist prospects and potential members.
• Assist GM/AM with promotions and implementation of strategies.
• Ensure compliance with laws and insurance requirements.
• Operate amenities and assist members while following procedures.
• Represent Excel Fitness at community events.
