Job summary

Meijer Inc. is seeking a store leadership role in Michigan to direct daily operations, mentor team members, and drive sales while maintaining excellent customer service and store presentation.

You will oversee staffing, training, and development, ensuring adherence to company standards and safety policies. The role emphasizes coaching teams, managing multiple tasks, and delivering strong results through effective leadership and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent required.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other areas of the store; customer service and product flow experience is helpful.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly to team members.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve conflicts by addressing root causes.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and statistical information to make informed decisions.
• Demonstrated ability to teach suggestive selling.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor team members including SDITs and hourly team leaders.
• Successful completion of all required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and supervise team members in day-to-day store operations across departments.
• Mentor and coach staff to improve customer service and sales.
• Ensure store appearance, prime shopping hours, product presentation, and adherence to company standards.
• Staffing: recruit, select, and hire to meet staffing needs.
• Promote succession planning and career development within the team.
• Document and apply disciplinary actions when needed and advise on dismissals.
• Manage P&L, achieve sales targets, and control shrink in the department.
• Maintain a safe work environment and ensure consistent attendance.
• Provide regular training and ensure staff complete required certifications.
