Job summary

Meijer is seeking a store leadership professional to plan, direct, and supervise daily operations across departments. You will mentor team members, guide hiring and training, and maintain the store’s image and service standards.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of related retail experience
• One year of management experience
• Rotational assignments in store areas helpful
• Ability to communicate direction clearly and precisely
• Ability to resolve conflicts and address root causes
• Ability to manage multiple tasks
• Ability to analyze financial and statistical information for decision making
• Mentor/team leadership experience is a plus
• Certifications as required by role

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and supervise team members in day-to-day store operations
• Mentor and coach team members to improve customer service and drive sales
• Ensure staffing to meet store needs and participate in hiring decisions
• Promote succession planning and career development opportunities
• Handle disciplinary actions and document issues as needed
• Maintain store appearance, product presentation and adherence to standards
• Foster a safe work environment and uphold attendance discipline
• Communicate the Meijer Friendly Initiative in meetings and team discussions
• Ensure staff complete required training and spend time engaging with customers
