Job summary

Meijer is seeking an experienced retail leader to plan, direct, and supervise day-to-day store operations. You will mentor team members and implement strategies to improve customer service, drive sales, and ensure product presentation meets company standards.

The role emphasizes staffing, training, and succession planning to promote development and ensure a fast, courteous shopping experience for customers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent.
• 2–3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other store areas (meat, bakery, produce, deli) and customer service experience.
• Clear communication with team members.
• Ability to resolve conflicts and address root causes.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and analyze financial information.
• Ability to mentor team members and lead staff to meet sales goals.
• Completion of required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Mentor and coach team members to improve customer service and sales.
• Drive store sales while ensuring customer needs are met and service is quick and efficient.
• Maintain store appearance and product presentation to Meijer standards.
• Promote a safe work environment and ensure reliable attendance.
• Spend time in-store communicating with customers and team members to deliver exceptional service.
• Document and apply disciplinary actions and participate in promotion decisions.
