Job summary

Meijer is seeking a team member to support daily store operations and deliver outstanding customer service. You will guide checkout experiences, assist with scheduling, and mentor teammates to meet service and sales goals.

Qualifications

• Passion for customer service and total engagement with customers and team members.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Retail or customer service experience preferred.
• Ability to influence others and build rapport with customers.

Responsibilities

• Engage peers to provide the best possible shopping experience for customers.
• Communicate with team members and assign daily work tasks.
• Mentor and coach teammates to exceed service and sales goals.
• Assist in training new team members and cross-training high-potential talent.
• Collaborate with leadership on department scheduling to improve engagement and store performance.
• Monitor product freshness and rotate stock according to policies.
• Lead adherence to food safety standards and safe work practices.
• Oversee ordering, receiving, stocking, pricing and product displays where applicable.
• Foster an inclusive Meijer culture with diversity and inclusion values.
• Operate registers and handle cash when needed; use powered equipment if required.
