Job summary

Pomfret School Health Services seeks an experienced registered nurse for overnight coverage in a per diem pool. Shifts are overnight 10:00 PM–8:00 AM, with gaps covered as needed and short notice possible. The nurse works independently on campus with on-call support from a clinician.

Responsibilities include triage, med administration, health records, and education for students and staff. Connecticut RN licensure and BLS are required.

Qualifications

• Connecticut RN licensure required.
• BLS certification required.
• Familiarity with Magnus Health software is a plus.
• Must have current physical exam and TB test and be free of communicable diseases per CT state law.

Responsibilities

• Assess, triage, and treat students who are ill, injured or psychologically compromised.
• Document and communicate diagnosis and treatment plan with nursing team, parents, advisors and others as needed.
• Consult with physicians, psychologists, psychiatrists or other health care providers as necessary.
• Manage medications as prescribed in a safe environment and dispense to students.
• Maintain student health records and inform, educate, and counsel students and community on health and wellness.
• Support health services with vitals, point of care, testing and appointment booking.
