Job summary

Pomfret School is seeking an overnight school nurse for its Health and Wellness Center. The role operates in a per diem pool with shifts typically from 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM and occasional other coverage. The nurse works independently on-site, coordinating with an on-call physician or NP as needed.

Responsibilities include triage, documentation, medication management, health education, and support for campus health services while ensuring compliance with school policies and CT state regulations.

Qualifications

• Current Connecticut RN license required.
• BLS certification required.
• Experience with school health services is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assess, triage, and treat students who are ill or injured, including those post-discharge.
• Document and communicate diagnosis and plan with nursing team, parents and staff.
• Consult with physicians/psychologists as needed.
• Manage and dispense medications per CT Nurses Practice Act.
• Maintain and update student health records and coordinate care as needed.
• Support health services with vitals, testing, and appointment scheduling.
