Job summary

Meijer Inc. is seeking a Team Leader Overnight Stock in Washington Twp, MI. You will plan, direct and supervise store operations, mentor staff, and drive customer service and sales while maintaining company standards.

Responsibilities include staffing, training, performance coaching, and safeguarding store safety. A minimum of 1 year of management experience and a high school diploma are required, with rotation across departments encouraged.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent required.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other areas of the store (meat, bakery, produce, deli) helpful.
• Strong communication to provide clear direction.
• Ability to resolve conflict and address root causes.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and analyze financial data for informed decisions.
• Ability to teach suggestive selling and mentor team members.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and supervise team members in day-to-day store operations.
• Mentor and coach all team members to meet customer service and sales goals.
• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet needs; promote succession planning.
• Document discipline and discharge when needed; participate in promotion decisions.
• Manage P&L, achieve sales, and maintain shrink targets.
• Maintain store appearance and ensure fast, friendly service during prime hours.
• Train team in all job aspects and ensure completion of training requirements.
• Communicate the Meijer Friendly Initiative in team meetings and conversations.
• Ensure a safe work environment and reliable attendance.
