Job summary

Bowery Residents' Committee, Inc. is seeking a dedicated security/counselor to patrol the residence, monitor residents, and report observations to prevent loss or damage of property. The role involves escorting residents, screening calls, and overseeing medication self-administration.

Responsibilities include completing incident reports, preparing schedules, and waking clients in the morning. CPR training is preferred; bilingual Spanish/English is a plus.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required; some college preferred.
• One year of experience as a security guard or counselor for the mentally ill preferred.
• Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
• Valid driver’s license preferred.
• Basic computer literacy required.
• CPR training or willingness to take CPR training.
• Vaccination preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Patrol residence and report observations leading to loss or damage of property.
• Monitor resident activities and act to restore order if needed.
• Make out reports as required; complete incident reports in AWARDS.
• Escort residents and screen calls and visitors.
• Monitor the self-administration of medication.
• Prepare laundry schedule, census updates, case assignments, and roll call sheet as needed.
• Wake clients in the morning and inspect rooms periodically.
• Provide emergency first aid/CPR assistance when needed.
