Job summary

Avivo Village in Minneapolis, MN is seeking a Resident Advocate for the overnight shift to support our shelter residents. You will monitor wellness, de-escalate crises, distribute meals and harm-reduction supplies, and help maintain a safe, welcoming environment.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma/GED, at least two years assisting individuals experiencing homelessness or related challenges, and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years of experience supporting individuals experiencing homelessness or related challenges.
• Lived experience valued and respected.
• Commitment to harm reduction and housing-first approaches.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to de-escalate conflicts and stay calm under pressure.
• Clear background checks required.
• Willingness to work evenings and weekends; CPR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Engage residents with daily support, activities and wellness checks.
• Respond to crises with compassionate care and trauma-informed approaches.
• Monitor safety and cleanliness of rooms, bathrooms and common areas.
• Provide meals and uphold food safety standards.
• Assist residents with transitions (admission, discharge, or care).
• Help maintain a safe, welcoming, and clean facility both inside and out.
