Job summary

Avivo Village in Minneapolis seeks a dedicated Resident Advocate for overnight shifts. You will provide direct support to residents, monitor wellness, de-escalate crises, distribute meals, and maintain a safe environment that reflects Avivo’s harm-reduction and housing-first approach.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and at least two years of experience helping individuals facing homelessness or related challenges. CPR certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years of experience supporting individuals experiencing homelessness or related challenges.
• Lived experience is valued and recognized.
• Commitment to harm reduction, housing-first, and inclusive care models.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Engage residents with daily support, activities, and wellness checks.
• Respond to crises with compassion and safety measures (Narcan where appropriate).
• Monitor safety and cleanliness of rooms, bathrooms, and common areas.
• Provide meals and uphold food safety standards.
• Support residents through transitions—discharge, move-in, or care.
• Maintain a safe, welcoming, and clean facility inside and out.
• Uphold the values of Absolute Dignity, Leaning into Curiosity, and Radical Welcome in every interaction.
